Notice on Fraudulent Job Offers and Recruitment Fraud

What is Recruitment Fraud?

Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam offering fake job opportunities to job seekers. This type of fraud is normally carried out through online services such as false websites, or through fake emails claiming to be from the company.

The fraudsters often request recipients to provide personal information and to make payments as part of their fake recruiting process. They may also offer fraudulent employment opportunities to applicants and often ask for sensitive personal and financial information, including requiring candidates to arrange travel for face-to-face interviews with a certain travel agency.

*Important Notice from Thought Industries: Thought Industries and/or its affiliates does not collect any financial commitment from candidates as a pre-employment requirement, and Ti does not provide advance funds for purchasing equipment for new hires.

How to Identify Recruitment Fraud?

  • All Thought Industries applicants are required to only apply for jobs through www.thoughtindustries.com
  • Fraudulent job offers often ask for financial or personal information early in the process. Thought Industries does not ask for any financial commitment or contribution from a candidate at any stage of the recruitment process.
  • A fraudulent offer** may ask you to book travel through a certain travel agency with the promise to reimburse travel costs, or ask you to deposit a check for equipment purchase.

**Thought Industries has no responsibility for fraudulent offers and advises candidates to follow the guidance provided above.

Ways you can identify fraudulent recruitment scams:

  • Be cautious of generic emails — Scammers try to cast a wide net by including little or no specific information. Always be wary of emails that seem overly generic.
  • Incorrect domain names or email addresses — Check for misspellings of Thought Industries, or non-Thought Industries email addresses (i.e., gmail.com, yahoo.com, .careers.com, etc.).

**Thought Industries-approved emails that come directly from Thought Industries will ONLY COME FROM thoughtindustries.com

  • Request for financial information or payments — Thought Industries recruiters will never ask prospective employees for payment to apply for a position or as a condition of employment, or provide funds for the purchase of equipment.
  • The “perfect” job — A job posting that states extremely high compensation for a position that requires “no skills or experience,” seems too good to be true, and is likely to be fraudulent.
